The Temptation in the Desert
Jesus was tempted by Satan in the desert. Satan began by trying to get Jesus to question who he is ("If you are the Son of God . . .) and then suggested what the Son of God should be able to do. I think I often react too quickly to people who question what I am doing and who I am helping, and how I help them. I would like to be able to snap my fingers and solve the world's problems, or even just the problems of the people with whom I interact. Often I am impatient with God. Why does He let these problems continue? Why doesn't he act now? Sometimes I say in prayer, "If you really are God . . .", but then I remember the Scripture passage, "God's ways are not our ways, God's thoughts are not our thoughts."

As Jesus was tempted by Satan at the desert, I have also been tempted by another. For example I play a sport and on my team I play a supporting role. One game I decided to play a main/more support role. Now one of teammates had found that to be odd so he began questioning me. Such as ''If you good how come you never had played that position from the start'', so on and so forth.I was very angry about someone questioning me as to why I'm doing something. I just wanted to do what I'd like to do without any conflict.
ReplyDeleteGod does his own thing. It's his plan. He has our life and death all planed out. One thing that I keep asking God is to help my grandma overcome the fear of flying so that she can come to the US to visit us. Reading this scripture made me realize that it's not what I want, but what is best. I makes me think of what may happen if we go against God. God forbid she does come here but there is a plane crash. As it's said, God is late but never forgets.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I think about Jesus at the desert fasting, I ask myself a lot of questions like if we all who have sinned do as what Jesus did. Jesus at the desert was tempted but didn't fail because the Holy spirit was with Him and because He fasted to sacrifice His thoughts, energies and self into God's will. Jesus talk of the end days that the time is near because according to scripture the old testament was there before Jesus. Which means He had already arrived, the sorrow was coming in. when Jesus said the time is near it still could have been but Israelites could have believed and the all promises could have been fulfilled but they didn't. I always thought when someone dies that's the way Jesus has come to his life. but it doesn't make sense at the same time. but when I read revelation Jesus giving the testimony that He's coming soon. So now we are on the same side waiting for Him to fulfilled his work. His promises will not be forgotten. So we're still waiting for the one who said He's coming.
ReplyDeleteWhenever i think about Jesus and the desert fasting. I cant help but to reflect it to todays modern issues and even my own issues because they're so similar. It seems like everyday just like in the bible someone is questioning my abilities or what I am capable of doing. Then I would think about what would Jesus do. So i try to rise above those kind of situations
ReplyDeleteThe story of Jesus in the desert helps me go through so many problems in my life. I just think to myself, "Jesus refused temptation and did not eat anything for over a month." I think it is the impossible but if you really think about it, anything is possible, with God along side you. You just need to have trust and faith in him just as Jesus did in the desert
ReplyDeleteThis whole verse of Jesus and the devil about how the devil said that if you are really what you say you are, then prove it reminds me of something. Like times if I want to do what I want to do I have to prove I could do it or be it or else no one will think what I say O want to dream or wanted to be. Jesus always do what makes me think about what can I be and I accept to be what I am. Surviving 40 days in the desert is pretty impressive in my image.
ReplyDeleteGod lets problems continue because he is testing us on our faith in him that he will always be there whenever we need him. We truly can't question God on his decisions makings and the paths he taking us towards. You can't make your life a happy wonderland of joy by doing things that you believe he , but you could only live happily with the path God has planned for you from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteproblems in life is temporary.any task you go through you have to know that God is always with you. Jesus refused temptation and did not eat anything for over a month. that hows the passion jesus had towards god. he made it not so negative when he faced his problems

DeleteTemptation is very big in all of our daily lives. I know it very well becuase o have been tempted a lot by the devil. But I know that I have to keep myself strong and resist it becuase even though whatever it is, it will not bring me happiness when I do it. I feel that God lets these things happen because he knows that there are good things behind all of it. We are just to blind to find it. We have to start to open our eyes and find the good in the worse of things.
ReplyDeleteI feel that when god doesnt answer your prayer and just lets it continue he is doing that to make you stronger as a person. Because life isnt easy and he is teaching you to be strong and know how to handle things in tough situations.
ReplyDeleteJesus was very tempted by the devil in the dessert. It was probably very hard for him not to say anything back to him because he was a powerful person. You don't have to show people who or what you truly are to another person to believe you. God know that when your doing something wrong or he takes something away from you it's because he is doing it for the good of you. He knows what you need for life. Most people now a days can't see anything and a blinded by to days society. And wanting people to like them so they will honestly do anything

ReplyDeleteI think God let problems continue because he knows what he is doing meaning he wants you to be strong while he hasn't done what you ask him. Is telling us life is not easy so when u get to a tough situttion one day, he wants you to recover it and handle it by your self.

ReplyDeleteSometimes God takes time with your problems but he will never abandon you he just wants to test what you do next
ReplyDeleteI think we all go through temptation in some way shape or form but we must resist and stay strong from this evil like Jesus had done in the desert against the devil.
ReplyDeleteTemptation is a tricky thing because it comes up almost every day. Temptation always finds a way to pop up in our life's. When in the desert 🌵 Jesus is tempted by the devil but rejected it, so why can't we?
ReplyDeleteI agree with this
ReplyDeleteTemptation is hard because it happens everyday and you have to make a good choice. You have to ask yourself what would Jesus do? Jesus is not tempted by the devil because he knows he is not good.
ReplyDeleteTemptation is very hard for every body because its the challenge between us and the devil.it happen everyday sometimes I ask my self if God play with me or what, because sometime like if I have a lot of homework to do something come then I get tire to do my work,I think God make Temptation to us for had how to fight devil and
ReplyDeletethen be close of Him.
