Recent events have brought to the fore many issues that divide America. St. Benedict's Prep seems to be a place that avoids these types of divisions. Reflect on what it is about St. Benedict's that make this possible.
St. Benedicts molds everyone into one family at the school. They do this, so that everyone is very connected and together. They do this by having groups and convo. In convo its a time for everyone to get together to sing, pray, do attendance, and make announcements. In group, a selected amount of students from all different grades get together and bond. These two things help us stay united.
St.Benedicts has made everyone that are from different races into one whole big family or community. It is like a nation, but with us, boys. Out there in the world, people don't care what race you are, they don't even want to look at you, or even want to act nice to you. The reason is because they think our skin color is not better than theirs. To describe that,(white cops killing blacks, Trump planning to build a wall on the border of Mexico), but in St.Benedicts, we are not separated, we are not alone, we are one.
Saint benedicts prep has made everybody including vacualty from different race into a community. But out there in the world, people dont even care what race you are and also they don't want to be nice to you. Reason is they think that the color black, white or any race is not better than theirs. For example a white cop will kill a black guy for no reason, but in St Benedict prep, we do not care about your race, we care about unity which means to come together as brothers.
St. Benedicts is a place where a variety of different races come to one place to achieve the same goal, graduate. We do not judge about how we look because at the end of the day the only reason why we're here is to get our education. i think that is what helps us unite the most. Our race will never get in between because St. Benedicts taught me that it would never matter what race you are in.
With what happen yesterday I believe our country is totally dived indeed. I think it's sad that this is what our country is going through right now. Shows how anyone who has money and is racist and power can win. The division in this country is so great and sad. In glad i can call St.Benedict's Prep a equal community. It's equal community because most people see each other as family or brothers. Most people there want to see each other to succeed and do great things. I think it's important you should have a mix community that way you can understand how different races act and feel, also have some kind of common ground.
St. Benedict's brings kids and even adults of different backgrounds together by allowing the students to depend on one another and not look for a teacher or adult to help them in even the smallest situation. This includes the freshmen overnight and the trail. Both of these traditional events force the students to be with one another, even with the people that they dont like. By spending time with people that they dont like, the students are able to have a different view of others or even find a way to deal with them. Because they are able to handle these situations well as teenagers, then as adults in the outside world, they will definitely will be able to handle even harder situation and more selfish people people with great maturity and justice. These are factors needed to keep America united: maturity and justice, and this is something that the world cant accomplish since only a few people go through things that people in SBP go through. In the other hand, since SBP is capable of it because as mention in the beginning (trail & overnight) we are able to keep everyone united
In the other hand st.Benedict's in my opinion, I believe is a school of opportunity. Even though it's an all boys school I still believe it's giving a tremendous opportunity to everyone in disparate ways. with that being said st.Benedict's has build a pretty big community, that has brought people together from different communities. with the help of monks praying for our community as well as our country has really build up or make it possible for st.Benedict's to help people understand that separateness is nothing but only bringing conflicts and staff. So in order to avoid the separateness st.Benedict's has brought different people from different countries together as one family as the sages say"we all feel a separateness we wish that drop of water would soften our ego the world needs a common conscience, agreement..we must concentrate outside ourselves."
In St Benedict's there are kids with different backgrounds and stories. In an environment where the world throws them to the side and shines no light. But this place St. Benedict's does, it shows us the value of working together, and of leadership. Everyone is a one unit, one gang we do not put ourselves above anyone else. This place shows the students that they are more than just what they think they can be. It also shows them that differences do not matter and that working together is the key to solving many problems in life.
At St.Benedict's we have a very diverse school. People from most types of races at our school and meeting up in one room to get along with each other . What most schools cant do we do. We treat each other with respect and love. Even if we have a few differences we work it out because at the end of the day we are all brothers. This is why Benedict's doesn't get caught up with the shenanigans out in the world.
At St. Benedict's we believe in kids from all over the world come to be as a family or known as a brotherhood where kids stay together and have each others backs at all time. We have special activities to develop a bond between brothers for example the Overnight, the Trail, and sport activities. Separating the United States gives a negative effect where we are trying to be connect and build a positive effect.
Instead of being in charge by a government but St. Benedict's is run by students who get along with other students. I like it when it is run by students and how teachers let it be run by students. Also when it comes to athletics we can recruit others who are good. In addition to that is why we are top in the country in soccer and basketball. That is why I think in the real world kids should rule it because we are the next generation.
I think the key word here that they use at Benedict's would be brotherhood as it could also be understood as unity and community all words that the United States at this moment does not comprehend. How I think St. Benedict's avoids these types of divisions would be most notably the overnight and the trail as each of us have to set aside our differences to work together and complete the goal that is at hand. What's happening in our country right now is telling the opposite as large groups of people are rioting all over the place dividing America into basically two groups.
We bring people together from different countries and give them a better life here. Once they get here we support them in many ways. We make them feel as home and they seem to enjoy that. St Benedict's is the big opportunity for me in my life I can have good education and a scholarship for a college.This school brings together many different kinds of people from the different country and ethnic he help also poor people to have a good education.At St.Benedict's the students are lovely respectful even the teachers too,it's one of the best school in US.What's happened to this country now is a bad dream because since the election has been closed there are only a new claims in the country basically between two group my last is God blessed America and people from the world.
I think its because we accept all ways of life which means that we accept everyone for their religion and their race and I think we are different from the outside world because we are part of a true community and we have priorities to deal with here then the outside world. The world divides people by many things such as poor and rich, black or white, and many other features and its bring our country to ruins many people come here to live the American dream but if you think about it, its hard for outsides to live it especially if your an immigrant. Its becoming a routine that problems show up in the world such as racism and bullying and dividing everyone to categories and its going to led America to ruins and the American dream will die due to everyday problems in America. We say we are a great country when there are poor in the street and children in the street without parents or don't even know there parents and so many things that America hides from us. In my perspective this country isn't so great if we the people living in America are about to put everyone in categories or divide people by religion and sex. So many people hate gay people because they say God said that they are an abomination but fitly truly read the bible it clearly says that God accept all his children and he does accept gay people its an abomination if the same sex have intercourse and that's when God says they are an abomination but if your gay it doesn't mean your going to hell no its means you can't sin by having intercourse with the same sex. Its also religion too so if someone is Indian you have say oh he likes the curry or if someone's Muslim we have to say oh he is a bomber or if your Hispanic we have to automatically think he is Mexican border hopper and if someone is white we have to he a cracker but why do we do this its because so much racial cruelty happened in Americas history and we categorize people for there skin color, religion and sex. There are many problems in America but that's why we differ from the outside world cause even though we might do many of these things in this school when we have to we forgive and we stick together as one as a school. Its a bad example but the arts high school vs us fight happened and I heard the whole school came together to fight as one. I guess you can says we are real in one aspect and fake in one another.
